Historical Ranges

Have you been offered a historical IP range? Are talking to someone about potentially buying some historical address space?

There are three things you need to look out for when purchasing a historical range:

  1. A historical range has to first be transferred into an APNIC account once that happens it is fine but that process can be very complicated for the holder to go through.
  2. Some historical ranges can be decades old and proving ownership could be an issue leaving potential risk if it is later disputed.
  3. Because the ranges are old there may be problems with reverse delegations
